How to use this Nepal weather page
Start with a popular Nepal location, type a city or municipality name, or tap Use my locationfor a forecast near you. The main panel shows the current temperature, weather condition, rain now, today’s rain chance and the next 24 hours of rain probability.
Rain forecast: probability vs millimetres
Rain forecast has two parts. Chance of rain tells you how likely rain is in a time window. Rain in mm estimates the amount. In Nepal, especially during monsoon, short local showers can be intense, so check both values before riding, travelling, drying grain, planning outdoor work or starting a hill-road trip.
Official Nepal weather warnings
This tool is useful for quick planning, but it is not an official disaster-warning service. For severe rain, flood, landslide, aviation or public safety decisions, check the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology / Meteorological Forecast Division. DHM is the official Nepal government weather authority.
Technical approach
The live forecast is fetched from Open-Meteo’s forecast API using latitude and longitude. Place search uses a small Tools Pasal Nepal location list first, then the Open-Meteo geocoding API as a fallback. No API key is exposed and no location history is stored by Tools Pasal.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check rain forecast for any Nepal location?
Yes. Choose a popular Nepal city, search a place name, or use your browser location. The tool uses latitude and longitude to fetch live weather, rain probability and expected rainfall for that point.
How accurate is the rain forecast in Nepal?
Rain forecasts are estimates, not guarantees. Nepal's hills, mountains and monsoon systems can change quickly, so use this page for planning and check the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology for official warnings.
Does Tools Pasal store my location?
No. If you tap 'Use my location', your browser shares coordinates only for the forecast request. Tools Pasal does not save your GPS, search text or weather history.
What do rain chance and rain in mm mean?
Rain chance is the probability that rain may occur in that forecast period. Rain in millimetres is the expected amount. A high probability with low mm may mean light rain; a lower probability with high mm can still mean heavy showers if rain happens.
Which source powers this weather tool?
The live forecast is powered by Open-Meteo's public weather API. For official Nepal warnings and government weather bulletins, use the DHM/Meteorological Forecast Division website linked on the page.
