Unix Timestamp Converter

Convert a Unix timestamp (epoch) to a human date and back — seconds or milliseconds, with UTC, ISO and local time. Live current timestamp too.

Current Unix time

Timestamp → date

Date → timestamp

How to use it

Paste an epoch value to see the date in Local, UTC and ISO 8601 formats, or enter a date and time to get the seconds and milliseconds timestamp. The current Unix time ticks live at the top.

Where timestamps show up

  • API responses, logs, JWT iat/exp claims and databases.
  • File modification times and cron/scheduling.

More developer tools: UUID Generator, JSON Formatter; for Nepali dates use the Date Converter.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Unix timestamp?

It's the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 (UTC), known as the Unix epoch. For example 1700000000 is 14 November 2023, 22:13:20 UTC. Many systems also use milliseconds (13 digits).

Does it handle seconds and milliseconds?

Yes — it auto-detects: values of 13+ digits are treated as milliseconds, shorter ones as seconds. The Date → timestamp side gives you both.

Which time zone is used?

Timestamp → date shows your Local time, plus UTC and ISO 8601. Date → timestamp interprets the date and time you enter in your local time zone.

Is anything uploaded?
