Frequently asked questions
What is a Unix timestamp?
It's the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 (UTC), known as the Unix epoch. For example 1700000000 is 14 November 2023, 22:13:20 UTC. Many systems also use milliseconds (13 digits).
Does it handle seconds and milliseconds?
Yes — it auto-detects: values of 13+ digits are treated as milliseconds, shorter ones as seconds. The Date → timestamp side gives you both.
Which time zone is used?
Timestamp → date shows your Local time, plus UTC and ISO 8601. Date → timestamp interprets the date and time you enter in your local time zone.
