Frequently asked questions
How do I download a YouTube thumbnail?
Paste the video's URL (any format — watch, youtu.be, Shorts, embed) or its 11-character ID. The available thumbnails appear in every size; click Download to save the one you want, or Open to view it full size.
What sizes are available?
Max HD (1280×720), SD (640×480), High (480×360), Medium (320×180) and Small (120×90). Max HD only exists if the uploader's video was high-resolution, so it may not appear for older or low-quality videos.
Is this legal?
Downloading the public thumbnail image is fine — no video or copyrighted stream is downloaded, and YouTube serves these images publicly. However, the thumbnail itself is the creator's work: don't reuse someone else's thumbnail commercially or claim it as your own without permission.
Does it download the video too?
No. This tool only fetches the public thumbnail image. It does not and cannot download videos.
Is anything uploaded to a server?
No. The thumbnail is fetched straight from YouTube's image servers to your browser. Tools Pasal stores nothing.
